11/9/11 – Peace

Standard

“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” – Unknown

I have a coffee mug with this quote on it, true story!  I love it so much that I even cut the cardboard box it came in and framed the quote from off of the box, another true story haha. I look at it in my room every day and it reminds me to stop and BREATH!

There is a woman my company does work with who I have become close with. After one of our meetings a few weeks back we were sitting and catching up quickly, talking about life and the sort. She mentioned a man that she had met who had “3 Deep Breaths” printed on his business cards. When she asked him why, he mentioned that everyone needs to stop each day and take 3 deep breaths. I thought this was brilliant!  Putting a quote that can apply to everyone on your business cards? Just brilliant! You’re selling free peace of mind and relaxation. How can you read that and not stop and take 3 deep breaths.

I thought of that story when I chose to use this quote today. Life will always be loud, there will always be work to be done, trouble will always creep its way into our lives, but we have to be able to find a place of peace and quiet within ourselves when we can’t find it anywhere else. Be calm in your heart and you will know the true meaning of peace.  Take a moment today to take 3 DEEP breaths. It’s amazing how something so simple can make you feel that much better.
