10/25/13 – Hope, Love – and put Trust in Life

Standard

“Woe to the man whose heart has not learned while young to hope, to love – and to put its trust in life.” – Joseph Conrad

It has been almost two months since I’ve shared a quote with all of you…that’s not something I’m proud of either. Every day I read a handful of quotes, I just haven’t allowed myself to sit down and share them. I think I learned from this that this sharing and expression is necessary for me on a day to day basis to feel grounded. I’m hoping that I can get back into the routine. I need to learn to slow down and make time for the things I truly enjoy and that make me happy; quotes and writing do that for me.

That being said, I’ve had this quote in my purse for almost 2 weeks now. It’s been there so that I will take the time to share it and express what it means to me. I knew it was in my purse but I had forgotten which quote it was. When I pulled it out just now I was reminded how ironic life can be. This quote summarizes the thoughts that have been running through my head all week. The way I put it into words to a friend, “When I can overlook the fear of it all and face the reality that I live once and that loving with the possibility of pain is better than living without loving, it makes me more able to let go and let life just happen.” Oh how I’m so glad I have learned this. Woe to the man who has not…
