Thanksgiving, Part 1, My Dad:
Life Lessons
You may have thought I didn’t see,
Or that I hadn’t heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we’d grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It’s written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn’t be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
I’ve grown up with your values,
And I’m very glad I did;
So here’s to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.

I am so so so grateful and will forever be grateful for all my father taught me…SO much so that I wish I would have written this poem myself, but I would have never come close to saying it better than this woman has. So, if you can hear me, thank you for teaching me how to love, how to be humble, how to be selfless and how to care for others.
Never miss a chance to tell those you love how grateful you are to have them in your life…How I’d love to dance with my father again… (Song linked to the picture).
